The Reverie Saigon is the most opulent luxury hotel in Vietnam — a Leading Hotels of the World member occupying the upper floors of the Times Square Building in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, with interiors furnished exclusively by Italy’s most celebrated design houses including Colombostile, Giorgetti, and Poltrona Frau. It is, by design and intention, unlike any other hotel in Southeast Asia.

Nestled in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, The Reverie Saigon stands as a paragon of luxury and elegance. As a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, this hotel offers more than just a place to stay; it provides an opulent experience with decor that dazzles and service that pampers. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be enveloped in an atmosphere designed to make you feel like royalty.
I have recently returned from a 10-day trip around South East Asia and Ho Chi Minh City and this hotel were the last stop in the Vietnam part of the itinerary, where I stayed for 3 nights (thanks to a generous ‘3rd night free’ promotion).

The Reverie Saigon: Italian Design in the Heart of Ho Chi Minh City
What makes The Reverie Saigon genuinely unlike any other hotel in the region is its design provenance. Rather than drawing on Vietnamese aesthetics or the generic “Asian luxury” palette, the hotel made a bold decision: to furnish every public space and guest room exclusively with pieces from Italy’s most prestigious design houses — Colombostile, Giorgetti, Poltrona Frau, and others.
The result is a hotel that feels like it has been dropped into Ho Chi Minh City from a parallel universe — chandeliers in bedrooms, marble corridors, gilded furniture, and the kind of decorative excess that is either overwhelming or magnificent depending entirely on your tolerance for maximalism. Within a day, most guests find themselves firmly in the magnificent camp.
It is not a hotel for minimalists. It is not trying to be. If the idea of sleeping in a room designed by Giorgetti while watching the Saigon River from a floor-to-ceiling window sounds extraordinary — it is.

The Reverie was the final stop on a trip that included The Sukhothai Bangkok and Cap Karoso in Sumba — two of the most distinctive properties in the region and both bookable through me with exclusive perks.
The Reverie Saigon: Overview and First Impressions
Opened in 2015, The Reverie Saigon quickly established itself as one of the premier luxury hotels in Vietnam. As a proud member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it offers top-tier amenities, including a helipad for guests arriving in style. The hotel’s design and service reflect a commitment to excellence, ensuring that each guest enjoys a seamless blend of luxury and comfort.
The design can be a bit overwhelming and a lot to take in in the first instance, no matter how used one might be to strong design features. Having said that, there are rooms that are a lot more contemporary in terms of design and not as striking/”in your face”. I was worried initially that I would find it too much but I got used to it very quickly.

The Reverie Saigon Location: District 1 and Getting There
Arriving from the airport in a taxi, I was really impressed with how quickly the team on the ground jumped into action to take away our luggage, and then escort us to the Reception area, while at the same time radioing their colleagues to inform us of our arrival. It all felt very smooth and efficient and helped build up the excitement of a few days in such a fine establishment.
At Reception, guests are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, setting the tone for the exceptional service that defines a stay at The Reverie Saigon. The central location of the hotel offers convenient access to Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant attractions, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travellers.
With rooms located on all sides of the building the view varies but many of them offer panoramic views of Saigon River and beyond. It’s fascinating to watch the scenery change based on the weather, traffic, and between daylight and night.

The Reverie Saigon Rooms: How to Choose the Right Category
I had booked a Deluxe King Room (entry-level) and we were really pleased with how spacious it was, the layout, decoration, amenities, and the view. As you can see below there is a full-size desk and additional chair, a chaise longue which is great for reading, or just sitting back and watch what is happening on the river, and a very comfortable bed.

On entering the room, there were fresh flowers available, the Leader’s Club welcome gift, plus a bowl of fresh fruit. There is a complimentary mini bar, stocked with soft drinks, lager, coffee (by Nespresso), and tea. Requests for additional decaf coffee capsules were dealt with quickly and were remembered for the rest of the stay. Restocking of supplies was generous throughout our stay.
The bathroom featured dual sinks, and separate bathtub and rain shower. The amenities available are Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo.

The attention to detail in the rooms at The Reverie Saigon is unparalleled. The turndown service includes thoughtful touches such as placing a bottle of water by the bed, tidying up any cables or chargers used during the stay, and drawing the curtains to create a restful ambiance. A small box of 3 pieces of chocolate were also left in the room.
The Reverie Saigon Room Categories: From Deluxe to Executive Suite
During my stay, I had the pleasure of touring various room types with a member of the Sales team. This experience was invaluable for matching the perfect room to each client profile. Whether you seek a grand suite or a cozy room with a view, The Reverie Saigon has accommodations to suit every preference.
Some of the rooms were more colourful than others and it is important to review what is available before booking, to ensure a good fit. Apparently some people may not like a chandelier in their room!

Long Trieu Restaurant, Breakfast and the Moët Pool Bar
The culinary offerings at The Reverie Saigon are nothing short of spectacular. The breakfast buffet is extensive, with a variety of options including gluten-free items and an a la carte menu. The attention to detail is evident, from the precise placement of chopsticks to the fresh flowers and fruit bowls in the dining area. The staff’s friendliness and willingness to share insights into Vietnamese culture enhanced the dining experience.
The single detail that captured The Reverie Saigon’s service philosophy most precisely: our waiter, noticing we hadn’t yet tried egg coffee, arranged for the chef to prepare it specially — it wasn’t on the menu, wasn’t asked for, and wasn’t something we would have thought to request. It arrived at the table as a gesture. That is the difference between a hotel that provides service and one that anticipates it.

Also, the hotel boasts the Long Trieu Restaurant that serves fine Cantonese cuisine and has recently been awarded a Michelin star. The Long @ Times Square is a lively bar on the ground floor of the building; a great location to watch the world go by with a cocktail in hand.
Long Trieu Restaurant: The Reverie Saigon’s Michelin-Starred Cantonese Kitchen
Long Trieu is the hotel’s fine Cantonese restaurant, awarded a Michelin star in both 2024 and 2025 — making it one of the most celebrated Chinese restaurants in Vietnam and a destination in its own right, independent of the hotel. The kitchen specialises in traditional Cantonese techniques applied to premium ingredients, with a menu that rewards guests who take time with it rather than rushing through.
For guests staying at The Reverie Saigon, having access to a Michelin-starred restaurant without leaving the building is a genuine luxury — and one worth building an evening around. Reservations are recommended, particularly during peak season.
The Reverie Saigon Pool, Spa and Reverie Lounge
The hotel boasts an array of top-notch facilities, including an outdoor pool with two hot tubs.
The pool attendants there provide a personalised service, laying out towels on your chosen lounger and offering chilled water and a menu for food and cocktails. The Moët & Chandon-branded bar by the pool adds a touch of sophistication. The fitness centre and spa further enhance the luxury experience, providing guests with opportunities for relaxation and wellness.

A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Book
The design is genuinely polarising in photographs — it is significantly less overwhelming in person, and most guests find themselves charmed within a day. That said, if maximalism is not your aesthetic, The Reverie Saigon will not convert you. I can advise on the more contemporary room categories if you prefer a calmer environment.
Room selection matters more at this hotel than almost anywhere else I’ve reviewed. Some rooms have chandeliers above the bed. Others are restrained and elegant. The difference between the right room and the wrong one can define the entire stay — which is exactly why having an advisor who has personally toured every category is worth more than any loyalty programme perk.
Considering booking direct? You’ll miss the rate monitoring, room selection advice, and active advocacy that come from booking through me — and for a hotel where room category matters this much, that guidance is genuinely valuable. Here’s how the booking process works →
What Booking Through Me Actually Gets You
The Reverie Saigon is a property where the advisor value works differently to a Four Seasons or Rosewood — and I’d rather be upfront about that than pretend otherwise.
The hotel’s preferred advisor programme operates through Leader’s Club, Leading Hotels of the World’s loyalty scheme. Perks like complimentary breakfast and the welcome gift are available to Leader’s Club members — and if you’re not yet a member, I can guide you through joining before your stay. Membership is free, and for a stay at a property of this calibre, it is worth doing.
Beyond the loyalty programme, here is what I bring to a booking at The Reverie Saigon that you cannot replicate by booking direct:
Room selection. I have personally toured every room category at this hotel with a member of the Sales team. The rooms vary considerably — some are maximalist and theatrical, others considerably more contemporary. Matching the right room to the right client is something I do at the time of booking, not something you can reliably achieve from photos on a booking site.
Rate monitoring. Once your stay is booked, I monitor the rate. If the price drops, I rebook. You pay less and keep everything.
Before, during, and after. If something goes wrong — a room issue, a service disappointment, a billing discrepancy — I am your advocate with the hotel. Not a call centre. Not a chatbot. Me, directly, with an existing relationship with the property.
The wider itinerary. Ho Chi Minh City is rarely a standalone trip. If your itinerary includes Bangkok, Bali, Singapore, or anywhere else in the region, I can book every property with the full range of perks available — and there are many properties across Southeast Asia where the value proposition is considerably more tangible. Here’s a full list of the programmes I work with.
If price is your only consideration, book direct. If experience is what matters, get in touch.

For Southeast Asia itineraries where the perks are more tangible, my reviews of Alila Ubud, Conrad Bali, and The Sukhothai Bangkok cover properties where Hyatt Privé, Hilton for Luxury, and Fora Reserve perks apply in full.
FAQ
Q: Is The Reverie Saigon the best luxury hotel in Ho Chi Minh City? A: It is the most opulent and design-distinctive luxury hotel in Vietnam. Whether it is the “best” depends on what you’re looking for — it is exceptional for travellers who want maximalist Italian design, a Michelin-starred restaurant on site, and panoramic Saigon River views. Steve works with 8 preferred hotels in Ho Chi Minh City at different price points and can advise on which best suits a specific travel style.
Q: What is the Italian design at The Reverie Saigon? A: The hotel made a deliberate decision to furnish all public spaces and guest rooms exclusively with pieces from Italy’s most celebrated design houses — including Colombostile, Giorgetti, and Poltrona Frau. This gives the property a design provenance unique in Southeast Asia, with chandeliers in bedrooms, marble throughout, and a level of decorative ambition that distinguishes it from every other luxury hotel in the region.
Q: Does The Reverie Saigon have a Michelin star? A: Yes — Long Trieu, the hotel’s fine Cantonese restaurant, was awarded a Michelin star in 2024 and retained it in 2025. It is one of the most celebrated Chinese restaurants in Vietnam and is worth reserving for dinner regardless of whether you are staying at the hotel.
Q: What is the Leader’s Club at The Reverie Saigon? A: Leader’s Club is the loyalty programme of Leading Hotels of the World, the collection of which The Reverie Saigon is a member. Benefits for Leader’s Club members staying at The Reverie Saigon include complimentary breakfast and a welcome gift. Membership is free to join. Steve can advise on enrolling before your stay and on how the programme integrates with your booking.
Q: Why book The Reverie Saigon through a travel advisor if the perks are limited? A: The advisor value at The Reverie Saigon is different to a Four Seasons or Rosewood — and it’s worth being direct about that. The tangible benefits are room selection expertise (Steve has personally toured every category), rate monitoring, and active advocacy before, during, and after the stay. For travellers building a wider Southeast Asia itinerary, Steve can also ensure that every other property on the trip — Bangkok, Bali, Singapore, or beyond — is booked with the full range of perks available. There are no booking fees.
Q: Are the rooms at The Reverie Saigon very different from each other? A: Significantly so. Some rooms feature chandeliers above the bed, heavily gilded furniture, and vivid colour palettes. Others, particularly those designed by Giorgetti, are considerably more restrained and contemporary. Choosing the right room category is one of the most important decisions when booking The Reverie Saigon, and it is something Steve advises on specifically at the time of booking, based on the guest’s design preferences.
Is The Reverie Saigon Worth It?
The Reverie Saigon is not for everyone. It knows this, and it makes no apology for it.
For travellers who want to stay somewhere genuinely unlike anywhere else in Southeast Asia — a hotel where Italian design houses furnished every room, where a Michelin-starred kitchen operates on the same floor as the pool bar, where the Saigon River fills the window at dawn — it is the only address in Vietnam.
The egg coffee that arrived unasked at breakfast told me everything I needed to know about the service philosophy. The waiting staff had noticed we hadn’t tried it. They arranged for the chef to prepare it. It wasn’t on the menu. It was simply the right thing to do — and at The Reverie Saigon, that instinct runs through every member of the team at every hour of the day.
The perks situation is honest: I’d rather tell you the truth about what I can and cannot guarantee here than oversell it. What I can guarantee is the room that suits you, the rate that reflects the market, and an advocate who knows this property and will be available if you need me. For many of my clients, that is worth more than a complimentary breakfast.
If you’re building a Southeast Asia itinerary that includes Vietnam, this is where the Ho Chi Minh City nights should be spent. Get in touch and I’ll build the full routing.
Planning Vietnam alongside neighbouring destinations? Bangkok pairs naturally with Ho Chi Minh City — The Sukhothai Bangkok is where I’d send you for the Thai leg.
