Reviewed in May 2025 by Steve Michailidis, a London-based luxury travel advisor and Hilton for Luxury affiliated agent, this property is ideally suited to couples, honeymooners, and families seeking a refined Bali base. Located 30 minutes from Denpasar Airport and within easy reach of Uluwatu Temple and GWK, it consistently ranks among the best hotels in Bali for both short stays and extended itineraries.

I have to admit—this was a last-minute booking for me. I had originally reserved a different Bali resort nearby, but due to a flight cancellation, I needed to make a swift change. That’s where Conrad Bali came to the rescue.
Highly-rated, part of the Hilton for Luxury program, and conveniently-located just under 30 minutes from Denpasar Airport, this Nusa Dua hotel offered the perfect mix of accessibility and indulgence. It’s also within easy reach of iconic attractions like Uluwatu Temple and Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), should you wish to explore beyond the resort’s tranquil grounds (I did! DM me for recommendations).
Whether you’re travelling as a couple or with family, Conrad Bali is ideal for both short getaways and longer stays. I was there for just two nights—and honestly, I wish I’d stayed longer.

Arrival at Conrad Bali: First Impressions and Check-In
From the moment we arrived, I felt secure—every vehicle entering the resort undergoes a thorough security check. But what truly wowed me was the grand open-air lobby, revealing panoramic views of the main pool and the ocean beyond.
We were welcomed with a refreshing non-alcoholic drink while completing check-in, including the Hilton for Luxury perks (more on those below). Although we arrived a couple of hours early, we were informed of a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe King Ocean Front Room. With the resort at 94% occupancy, our room wasn’t quite ready—but the staff took my number and messaged promptly when it became available before the official check-in time of 3pm.
A courteous bellhop (more on him later!), escorted us to the room and gave us a full tour of the resort, room, and its amenities.

Conrad Bali Rooms and Suites: What to Expect
Our room was tucked away near the chapel—an area that proved blissfully peaceful. Though there was a wedding during our stay, the only hint was a burst of celebratory fireworks around 10pm.
The room was spacious and stylishly appointed, featuring:
- A plush king-sized bed
- Two comfy sofas
- A small balcony (perfect for drying swimwear after a day by the pool. We didn’t go in the sea, btw, as there was a warning sign about sea urchins at the time of our stay)
- A sleek bathroom with separate bathtub, rain shower, and a Toto washlet toilet
- Byredo’s Mojave Ghost toiletries
- A thoughtful welcome tray of pastries, biscuits, chocolates, and bottled water were brought it a little later

Other room types, including suites and villas, are available for families or those desiring added space and privacy.
The pièce de résistance? A breathtaking ocean view, particularly mesmerising at sunrise—around 6am—as the resort faces east.

Conrad Bali Restaurants: Breakfast, RIN, and the Saturday Cultural Dinner
Breakfast
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Conrad Bali certainly delivers. Guests can choose between two venues:
- Suku Restaurant (main dining room): Extensive buffet, wide selection of international and local dishes. It’s centrally located, making it a lively morning hub.
- RIN (Japanese restaurant): A quieter, more intimate option near the villas, with some outdoor seating.
Both options offered excellent service, and I loved that ice cream—including local flavours—was part of the breakfast buffet.

Dining Highlights
- Saturday Cultural Dinner: Held at the main restaurant, this includes traditional Balinese dancing, a welcome ceremony with rice blessings, and a lavish buffet featuring local delicacies, Western favourites, and grilled meats. À la carte options are also available.
- RIN Japanese Restaurant: A refined, award-winning experience. A must for foodies seeking innovation and elegance.
- Lobby Lounge: Serving light snacks, sandwiches, and a full drinks menu throughout the day.
- Poolside Ice Cream Stand: Expect both tropical twists and classic flavours, alongside fresh coconuts.
Hilton Honors members enjoy discounts on food and drinks (status-dependent). Note: some venues like RIN may be excluded.

Conrad Bali Jiwa Spa, Pools, and Fitness Centre
Pools
- Main Pool: A multi-sectioned lagoon-style pool near the lobby, with areas accessible directly from select ground-floor rooms.
- Villas Pool: Smaller and quieter, perfect for moments of solitude.
Jiwa Spa
The spa offers a full menu of traditional Balinese therapies and Western-style treatments. A smart tip: take advantage of the resort credit promotion—pay 2 million IDR and receive 3 million IDR to spend on spa treatments and F&B. It’s excellent value if you plan to indulge.
For something more remote and untouched, Cap Karoso in Sumba offers a completely different but equally extraordinary Indonesian experience.
Fitness Centre
Open 24/7, the gym features a range of cardio and strength-training equipment. Spacious, modern, and well-maintained—just what you’d expect from a top-tier Nusa Dua hotel.

Things to Do at Conrad Bali and in Nusa Dua
Every Saturday there is a Cultural Performance of Balinese dance, live music, and a a BBQ in the restaurant by the pool. It starts with a blessing and a welcome drink.
There are a few shops in the resort. If you’re looking for holiday wear, jewellery, or local souvenirs and appreciate a Boutique Shopping experience.
Bicycle Rentals & Tours are also available. Exploring the local area on two wheels is always a fun activities, but avoid busy roads and wear a helmet, please!
Children’s Activities: Family-friendly services and spaces cater well to younger travellers.
Service at Conrad Bali: What Sets It Apart
Let me spotlight Mr. D, the bellhop who made a lasting impression. He took genuine pride in his work—remembering our names, checking in on our experience daily, and ensuring we had everything we needed. This kind of attentive, heartfelt service truly elevates a stay.
The entire team was polished and professional, often anticipating needs with phrases like “Allow me to prepare that for you.” It’s this level of service that places Conrad Bali in a league of its own among luxury Bali resorts.
Oh, and one more thing to add … I liked that you can get bulk laundry done for a reasonable price here, based on the number of items. This is very helpful if staying for an extended period of time, or including the Conrad Bali in a longer itinerary (I was away for over 2 weeks).

FAQ
Q: Is Conrad Bali a good luxury resort? A: Yes — Conrad Bali is one of the most consistently praised luxury resorts in Nusa Dua, combining an oceanfront setting with exceptional service, multiple dining venues including the award-winning RIN Japanese restaurant, and the Jiwa Spa. It works equally well for couples, honeymooners, and families.
Q: Where is Conrad Bali located and how far is it from the airport? A: Conrad Bali is located in the Nusa Dua resort enclave on Bali’s southern peninsula, approximately 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar). It is also within easy reach of Uluwatu Temple and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park.
Q: What are the best rooms at Conrad Bali? A: The Deluxe King Ocean Front rooms offer spectacular sunrise views as the resort faces east — the 6am light across the Indian Ocean is genuinely extraordinary. Suites and villas are available for those wanting additional space, private pools, or family configurations.
Q: What perks do you get booking Conrad Bali through a travel advisor? A: Booking through Steve Michailidis as a Hilton for Luxury affiliated agent includes daily breakfast for two, a $100 hotel credit (applicable to dining and spa treatments), a complimentary room upgrade subject to availability, early check-in and late check-out, and double Hilton Honors points. There are no booking fees. A current Stay 4 Pay 3 promotion adds a complimentary night on top of all these inclusions.
Q: Is Conrad Bali good for a honeymoon? A: Absolutely. The combination of oceanfront rooms, the intimate villa pool, candlelit dining at RIN, Jiwa Spa treatments, and genuinely attentive personal service makes Conrad Bali one of the strongest honeymoon properties in Bali. The Saturday cultural dinner with Balinese dance is a particularly memorable evening for couples.
Q: What is the Hilton for Luxury programme? A: Hilton for Luxury (formerly Hilton Impresario) is a preferred partner programme that allows affiliated travel advisors to offer exclusive perks at Hilton’s top-tier properties worldwide — including Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, and LXR Hotels. These benefits go beyond what Hilton Honors membership alone provides and are only accessible when booking through a qualifying advisor.
Is Conrad Bali Worth It?
Without hesitation, yes — and I say that as someone who arrived here by accident.
What makes Conrad Bali remarkable isn’t any single feature. It’s the accumulation of things done exceptionally well: a location that faces east for those extraordinary sunrise views, a service team that remembers your name without being prompted, a Japanese restaurant that would hold its own in Tokyo, and a spa that makes you wonder why you didn’t book an extra night specifically for it.
For first-time visitors to Bali, it provides the kind of reassuring, beautifully managed experience that lets you relax fully rather than navigate the unfamiliar. For returning visitors, it offers enough depth — the cultural dinner, the RIN omakase, the lagoon pool at dawn — to justify coming back.
The Stay 4 Pay 3 promotion currently available through me makes the value proposition genuinely compelling. But even at full rate, with breakfast, hotel credit, and an upgrade included, this is one of the strongest bookings I can make for a client heading to Bali.
